Fé cristã e filosofia na antiguidade tardia

Abstract

This paper aims to do a brief historical-philosophical synopsis, aiming to postulate the status quaestionis of the relationship between faith and reason in the first centuries of the Christian era. In view of the critical imperative of philosophy, Christian intelligence sought to communicate the contents of faith from the epistemic demands of Greco-Roman culture. In this sense, it is intended to approach the fundamental aspects of the intelligence of Christian faith in Justin Martyr, Clement of Alexandria, Origen and Tertullian. However, this itinerary will not exhaust the depth of the matter. The method proposed in this work will be a literature review. However, the considerations developed in this research are settled in the perspective that Christian faith does not avoid the exercise of critical reflection in front of philosophical demands.
