Abstract


Despite the increasing interest in alternative and renewable energy sources, the proportion of fossil fuels in the world fuel balance remains to be quite appreciable. According to the BP Statistical Review of World Energy (2017), it accounts for about 80%, with coal taking 40% among fossil fuels.
