‘전뇌 학습(Whole-Brain Learning)’을 위한 한국어 교재 과제(Task) 분석 연구 -『초등학생을 위한 표준 한국어』를 중심으로-

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out if the tasks in Korean textbooks are composed of contents in accord with Whole-Brain Learning which fosters a creative and well-rounded person. The analysis criteria are prepared based on the development criteria for learning programming taking into account the functional differences and characteristics of the left and right brain, and the criteria are used to analyze four tasks for primary students in standard Korean textbooks developed by the National Institute of Korean Language in 2017. The aspect of standard Korean language performance, which was divided into expressive and understanding activities, showed that certain performance patterns were limited in particular textbooks. The analysis of the predominant factor of the left and right brain showed that the tasks of the left brain’s dominant element were many, while the right brain’s tasks were very few. This showed that the task should be organized to enable Whole-Brain Learning. Since all human actions and thought process are conducted by the brain, and that education is needed to help the overall and harmonious use of the brain in order to train creative and well-rounded person, the principle of Whole-Brain Learning is premised in the course of education. Furthermore, textbooks for equal use of left and right brain should be presented first. (PuKyong National University)
