Manejo multidisciplinario y estomatológico en pacientes con trastorno del espectro autista: revisión de la literatura. Multidisciplinary and stomatological management in patients with autistic spectrum disorder: literature review.
Abstract
Resumen Introduccion: El trastorno del espectro autista (autismo) es un trastorno del neurodesarrollo de origen genetico. Es uno de los trastornos con mayor componente hereditario, pero no existe ningun marcador molecular que por si solo defina su diagnostico. La organizacion Internacional Autismo Speaks estima en Mexico la prevalencia de uno por cada 100 nacimientos. Su diagnostico es clinico y su pronostico depende, en gran medida, del diagnostico precoz y de un tratamiento oportuno multidisciplinario e intersectorial. El abordaje odontologico del paciente autista, es de vital importancia, para no llevar a un deterioro su cavidad bucal y llevar un manejo preventivo, de igual manera llevar en conjunto el tratamiento con los padres y asi lograr una mejor condicion y calidad de vida bucodental. Objetivo. Descripcion del manejo multidisciplinario y estomatologico en paciente con autismo. Metodologia. Se realizo una revision bibliografica utilizando el buscador de Google academico, dentro de los documentos solicitados y revisados comprenden articulos, tesis del area de interes y manuales para manejo odontologico de paciente autista, con fechas de publicacion del 2006 al 2017, con idiomas en ingles y espanol. Dentro de los criterios de inclusion; comprende, trastorno autista, autismo, manejo multidisciplinario, manejo odontologico en paciente con autismo, Odontopediatria, prevencion. Los criterios de exclusion, psicologia, psiquiatria. Conclusion. Es importante saber sobre el tipo de trastorno que sufre el paciente autista, ya que en nuestra area hay que dar un diagnostico preciso, para realizar un buen tratamiento con el menor tiempo en sillon, de igual manera tener en cuenta el manejo multidisciplinario que debe llevar el paciente autista. Abstract Introduction: Autism spectrum disorder (autism) is a neurodevelopmental disorder of genetic origin. It is one of the disorders with the greatest hereditary component, but there is no molecular marker that by itself defines its diagnosis. The International Organization Autism Speaks estimates in Mexico the prevalence of one per 100 births. Its diagnosis is clinical and its prognosis depends, to a great extent, on early diagnosis and timely multidisciplinary and intersectoral treatment. The dental approach of the autistic patient is crucial and very important, so as not to lead to deterioration of the oral cavity and preventive management, in the same way to take the treatment with the parents together and thus achieve a better condition and quality of oral health. Objective. Description of multidisciplinary and stomatologic management in patients with autism. Methodology. A bibliographic review was made using the google academic search engine, within the documents requested and reviewed include articles, thesis of the area of interest and manuals for dental management of autistic patients, with publication dates from 2006 to 2017, in English and Spanish. The inclusion criteria were: includes, autistic disorder, autism, multidisciplinary management, dental management in patients with autism, pediatric dentistry, prevention. Exclusion criteria were psychology and psychiatry. Conclusion: It is very important to know about the type of disorder that the autistic patient suffers, since in our area we must give an accurate diagnosis, to make a good treatment with the shortest time in dental chair, in the same way take into account the multidisciplinary management that must take the autistic patient.
