PENGARUH MODUL KIMIA UMUM BERBASIS PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) TERHADAP PENGUASAAN KONSEP MAHASISWA PADA MATERI STOIKIOMETRI

 

Abstract


This study was examining the effect of a general chemistry module using problem based learning on students mastery of concepts on stoichiometric material. The method used in this research was quasiexperimental (quasi-experimental) with a 2x2 factorial design. The population in this study were students of the Nommensen HKBP University of Pematangsiantar Mathematics Education Study Program in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 Academic Year. Sampling was carried out using a random sampling technique consisting of 2 classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class (E-2) with treatment was taught with a general chemistry module based on problem based learning, while the control class (E-1) with treatment was taught using a chemistry module without problem based learning. The independent variable was a chemistry 82 PENGARUH MODUL KIMIA UMUM BERBASIS module based on problem based learning, while the dependent variable was the students mastery of concepts. The calculation of the hypothesis in this study used spss 20 with the following research results, (1) The students mastery of the concept of remembering (C1) in the experimental class was higher than the control class, (2) The mastery of the concept of students in the explaining category (C2) in the control class was more higher than the experimental class, (3) the students mastery of the concept of applying (C3) in the experimental class was higher than the control class, (4) the students mastery of concepts in the analyzing category (C4) in the experimental class was higher than the control class, (5) Mastery of concepts Students in the category of evaluating (C5) in the experimental class were the same as in the control class, (6) The students mastery of the concept of creating categories in the experimental class was higher than in the control class, and (7) There was an effect of the general chemistry module using problem based learning on students mastery of concepts in the material stoichiometry.
