Abstract

A very common phenomenon in countries subject to strong immigration and that is beginning to be quite important in Spain, which has gone from being a country of emigration abroad, to being a country that receives citizens who come from other countries to live here. , is the problem of the so-called marriages of convenience . \nThe true objective of these marriages is to obtain certain benefits in terms of nationality and immigration (= fast and privileged acquisition of Spanish nationality, obtaining a residence permit in Spain, family reunification, etc.). Therefore, they are a form of fraud against the Immigration and Nationality norms. \nThis paper seeks to highlight some relevant indications that allow us to identify a possible marriage of convenience based on the registration doctrine and the guidelines of the European Union.
