Microclimate effect on floating solar power plant production

Abstract

\n Solar power plants established are mainly built on uncultivated lands. However, the increase in land values due to the increasing population of the countries, the lack of necessary areas for these power plants in countries with small areas and the increasing need for energy have led to different pursuits. Installing photovoltaic systems on water resources appears as a good alternative solution in this regard. In this study, by using photovoltaic panels with an output power of 260 Wp and having a polycrystalline cell structure, a floating solar power plant with an output power of 120 kWp was installed on Buyukcekmece Lake, and the effect of the region s microclimate data on electricity generation was investigated. While the most important factor that positively affects power generation is radiation, it has been observed that the important environmental factors that affect negatively are specific humidity, wave strength and module temperature.
