Invigorating Parent-Child Relationship and the Peculiarities in Each Philosophies

 

Abstract


As the first teachers, parents play a pivotal role in the growth and development of a child. Their behavior and conduct are paramount in grooming their child. The experiences and memories have a great impact on one’s mind and tend to carve the initial years of every childhood. From the first moments of a child’s life, they depend on their parents or family so to speak to for protection, security and sustenance of their needs. Parents influence their children both directly and indirectly. On the other hand children’s behaviors, attitudes, and interests affect how their parents behave toward them. Parent-child relationship encompasses the combination of behaviors, expectations and feelings that are peculiar to a particular parent and a particular child. This peculiar relationship between parent and a child is involved up to the full extent of a child’s development. This study utilizes qualitative method of research and have used review of related literature as the main tool to establish peculiarities between and among the relationship of parents and their child. After in-depth analyses the researcher contemplated that parents ought to be knowledgeable of the various processes of promoting and supporting the child in the aspects of physical, emotional, social and intellectual development from infancy to adulthood. Likewise, the researcher believes that it is good to note that there different factors which influences the relationship between parent and their children. The factors involves family structure, support from society and community, history of the relationship within the family, emotional framework, temperament, experiences on parenting , intellectual capacity and culture.
