Abstract


Introduction: The aim of this study was to compare the effect of play therapy and selected sports exercises on self-confidence, physical self-efficacy and mental toughness in children. \nMethod: The present study was one of the applied researches that was conducted semi-experimentally. In this study, the statistical population included children aged 9 to 11 years. To conduct the research, one group called the control group of 20 people (group 1) and two groups called the experimental group of 20 people (40 people in total) under play therapy training (group 2) and selected sports exercises (group 3). ) They were. The statistical method used in the present study was analysis of variance. \nResults: The results showed that there was a significant difference between the mean of self-confidence, mental toughness and physical self-efficacy in the three control groups, the experimental group under play therapy and the experimental group under selected sports activities. In a way, the effect of selected sports exercises on children s self-confidence, stubbornness and physical self-efficacy was greater than play therapy.
