Identifying and Prioritizing Activities for Achieving Green Project Management (GPM) in Terms of Lean and Sustainability in the Isfahan Parks and Green Space Organization

 
 

Abstract


Green project management, commonly referred to as GPM, includes a set of management actions that enable the identification and evaluation of the effect of activities on the environment along with their control and improvement of environmental performance. Accordingly, lean and sustainability concepts have a special place as a driving force, because they can play a significant role in improving and enhancing the quality of the environment. So the purpose of this study is identifying and prioritizing activities related to GPM according to lean and sustainability concepts.The present study first identified the lean and sustainability dimensions in GPM. Then, the prioritization of activities in terms of the significance of the activity and not the order of performance, to achieve GPM with lean and sustainable goals in the Parks and Green Space Organization of Isfahan has been done. The data were obtained through the distribution of questionnaires among experts in the study area in two stages. In the first stage, using the Delphi method, lean and sustainability dimensions as well as GPM activities in the Parks and Green Space Organization were identified. Then in the next stage, GPM activities were prioritized by Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). According to the results, lean goals included three environmental, social, Processes, and procedures dimensions. Besides, sustainability goals included three social, economic, and environmental dimensions. Prioritization of GPM activities in terms of lean and sustainable goals, respectively, included executive activities, activities related to planning, initial activities, monitoring and control, and final activities.
