La globalización y su influencia en el quehacer literario mexicano del siglo XXI

Abstract

Purpose: To analyze how globalization has affected the production and perception of Mexican narrative, particularly in the works of two generations of literary producers: those born in the ‘60s and ‘70s of the previous century. Methodological design: The study was conducted through a multidisciplinary approach based on the recovery and analysis of information related to the conceptualization of globalization as a cultural and economic phenomenon, the situation that keeps the editorial industry and literary consumption, information obtained through reading literary works from recent authors, as well as consulting the opinion of specialized critics in regard to this last point. Results: Multidisciplinary research lines which can provide an optimized methodology in the fields of education, specialized studies, criticism, promotion and literary production in Mexico are proposed. Research limitations: This is a multifactorial and complex problem, therefore, this study approaches some of the most visible and documented aspects. Findings: Conducting a general review on how literary studies are done in Mexico is proposed since it is usually addressed without comparing intra literary and extra literary aspects.
