Abstract

Present investigation was carried out at Vegetable Research Farm, Kalyanpur, Department of Vegetable Science, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur during Rabi season of 2017 -2018. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting three replications and eight treatments. The findings of the investigation revealed that the performance of French bean crop was significantly influenced by different treatments. Among all treatments, treatment T3 (75% NPK through inorganic + 25% N through vermicompost) produced highest plant height (45.06 cm), number of pods per plant (25.06), pod length (13.88 cm), pod width (1.26 cm), average pod weight (4.18 g), pod yield/plant (40.19 g), pod yield/plot (8.17 kg) and pod yield per hectare (75.69 q) followed by treatment T2 (75% NPK through inorganic source + 25% NPK through FYM). Based on performance, it could be concluded that under prevailing climatic conditions of Kanpur region, treatment T3 (75% NPK through inorganic + 25% N through vermicompost) is the best for obtaining higher green pod yield. Hence, could be recommended for commercial cultivation.
