O papel da universidade corporativa no desenvolvimento de gestores: mapeamento de lições aprendidas e formulação de critérios para melhor gerenciamento

Abstract

Competitive companies have come to realize that investing in the training of their employees and managers, whether due to managerial issues or pressure from the business segment in which they operate, generates a differential to keep up with the speed of changes and evolution of technologies and methodologies. In this context, this research has as general objective to analyze how the corporate university contributes to the development of managers, based on their perception. As a scenario for the investigation, two Brazilian companies located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, with consolidated corporate universities. We conducted interviews based on a semi-structured script, together with managers from different areas of activity and levels of management. As a result, it has been identified that even with some limitations and even if the return of its performance is not effectively measured, it is undeniable that the existence of corporate universities values, enriches and evolves the functions of the former training sector. The development of managers has a continuous character, permanent and linked to the business. It provides education that favors strategic alliances, including engaging business partners in the ongoing learning process of corporate universities. The alignment with the culture, values, objectives and strategic competencies, elevates the level of organizational competitiveness, making corporate education receive greater attention from top management of organizations, effectively inserting it into the organization s strategies. As points of attention we have the lack of integration of the exercise of individual citizenship with corporate education and the lack of indicators that allow us to measure the influence of UC on company results - whether positive or not. The analyzes were elaborated to meet the objectives, considering the lessons learned from the research.
