The paper aims to analyze the effects of the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic on Brazilian International Relations graduate female research professors’ work. Thus, it contributes to the expanding literature on Gender and Science, and COVID-19. We hypothesized that the pandemic deepened gender inequality in academia science. Thus, it had an impact on female professors’ productivity. In August 2020, we sent an online questionnaire to the female professors. Our goal was to collect data on their working conditions, households, and research productivity in this period of university closures and remote work. In order to introduce our research, the article is divided into four sections. The first section provides a literature review on Gender and Science. The second section exams the pandemic effects on female researchers’ academic productivity. The third section is a methodological description. Finally, on in the last fourth section, we analyze the female professors’ profile and the research results. Our findings revealed that structural inequalities were intensified. Female professors’ workload increased as well as their double or triple journeys. Beyond that, the pandemic had a negative impact on their mental health and undermined their scientific production.
