Design of a Wide-Angle-Scanned Conformal Array Antenna

Abstract

This paper presents a novel wide-angle-scanned conformal phased array antenna which adopts a new combination mode of planar array and arc array. The new combination mode expands the scanning range of array antenna, and solves the problem that the gain of conventional planar arrays decrease seriously at large scanning angle. The scan angle of new combination array proposed in this paper can be up to 65°. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulation results.
