Frequency Regulation of Microgrid with Inverter Air Conditioners Based on Sliding Mode Control
Abstract
The frequency stability of microgrid is seriously challenged due to the high proportion of clean energy access and the increase in terminal electrification rate. A frequency regulation strategy of microgrid based on demand response resources and robust control method is proposed, which efficiently utilizes the advantages of source-load adjustable resources. First, frequency deviation and area control error (ACE) are decomposed as different frequency control reference values. Diesel generation system (DGs), energy storage system (ESs), and inverter air conditioner aggregators (IACs) are adjusted to achieve frequency recovery and stability by using frequency control reference values. Aiming to deal with the source-load fluctuation of microgrid, a sliding mode controller (SMC) is designed to improve the robustness of diesel generation system. Finally, different frequency regulation strategies are compared to show the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
