Mechanism of Electrical Resistivity Variations of a Stretchable Wire Printed on Elastomer-Based Substrates During a Uniaxial Cyclic Tensile Test
Abstract
Electrical conductivity variation of stretchable wires printed using a polyurethane-based conductive paste was evaluated during a uniaxial cyclic tensile test. Mechanical behavior of the wires was different depending on hardness of the substrates. Variation in electrical resistivity of the wires was sensitively affected by the difference in mechanical behavior. To develop highly-reliable stretchable wires, appropriate design of wiring structure is needed by taking mechanical properties of substrates into account as well as the materials designs of electrically conductive pastes.
