Waveform Design for High-Resolution Automotive Radar
Abstract
High spatial and Doppler resolutions are a fundamental building block of advanced automotive radar systems that will aid autonomous driving. High spatial and Doppler resolutions provide the level of detail in extracted information enabling reliability of interpretation to aid decision making for autonomous driving. This paper considers the key parameters that enable high resolution and goes on to develop a more systematic approach to vehicular waveform design. Trade-offs between radar performance and selected parameter values are examined to show the impact of key relationships.
