Vertentes sobre a Modelagem Matemática e o letramento matemático a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica: Approches de la modélisation mathématique et de la littératie mathématique basées sur une revue bibliographique

 
 

Abstract


This article aims to identify possible approaches to mathematical modelling and mathematical literacy based on a systematic literature review, which was done through national and international search bases. Guided by the question “How does mathematical literacy appear in research involving Mathematical Modelling?”, the mapping that we carried out pointed to 20 publications that answer our question. The research has a qualitative nature, and for the treatment and analysis of the data we used the textual discursive analysis, which enabled the emergence of three categories that match the guiding question: i) Mathematical skills and literacy skills are developed and/or required through mathematical modelling activities; ii) mathematical literacy has mathematical modelling as one of its competencies; iii) mathematical literacy skills and mathematical skills are analysed/evaluated through tests using mathematical modelling. Based on these categories, the presence of mathematical modelling in mathematical literacy has been identified, which indicates that the development of modelling activities promotes the skills of mathematical literacy.
