Abstract


To support the teaching and learning process at school, there needs to be support from parents of students, including extracurricular activities, so that this activity can run well there needs to be participation from parents of students, but this has not been carried out well at SMP Negeri 30 Solok Selatan, Sangir District Juju District of South Solok, this can be seen from the lack of activity in the school. This is thought to be caused by the lack of parental participation in supporting extracurricular activities at 30 Solok Selatan Middle School, Sangir Jujuan District, South Solok Regency. This study aims to determine the participation of parents of students in supporting extracurricular activities in 30 Solok Selatan Middle School, Sangir Jujuan District, South Solok Regency. \nThrough this research, it will be known whether the parents of students have participated or not in supporting extracurricular activities of their children in school, and later it is hoped that the extracurricular activities can run as expected. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 30 Solok Selatan, Sangir Jujuan District, South Solok Regency, where the author served. The research methodology is classified as descriptive, meaning that research describes something as it is. The population of this research is the parents of 30 Solok Selatan Middle School students in Sangir Jujuan District, South Solok District, the sampling technique used is Purposive Sampling Technique, which is the parents of VIII.1 grade students. The data processing technique is the Descriptive Statistics technique. \nThe results of this study indicate that the participation of parents in supporting extracurricular activities at 30 Solok Selatan Public Middle School, Sangir Jujuan District, South Solok Regency, if we look in accordance with the whole questionnaire statement, 33.33% of parents strongly agree, 16.67% agree, 10.17% Doubtful, 22.50% disagree and 17.33% of parents strongly disagree in supporting extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 30 Solok Selatan, Sangir Jujuan District, South Solok Regency. But if we look at it as a whole, then the participation of parents in supporting extracurricular activities in schools is considered sufficient with an average percentage of achievement level of 65.23%.
