El estatus nepantla del dariya ceutí: entre la bastardía y la inferiorización

Abstract

«The nepantla status of Dariya in Ceuta: between bastardy and inferiorization». To relinquish of something so symbolical of the identity as could be the minorities groups’ language, succumbing before the great “assimilator machine” of the hegemonic and majority group, requires from an pseudoscience capable of inflate the dominant language’s value and undervalue the subordinated one. A manipulative narrative whose reach affects the linguistic behaviors, influencing negatively on the perception, valuation and external behavior of the people to the marginalized language, as the Ceuti Darija. The polyphonic and liminal reality of Ceuta needs a new grammar that could get over the simplistic and deficient binarism that, from the verticality, stills granting privileges to a language and excluding others. From these facts, appears our predilection for categories produced from, with and for the South, as the «transculturalism» and «nepantilism».
