Abstract

This postgraduate thesis aims to highlight the importance of leadership mainly in crisis management. The paper sought to answer the following questions: What is the reaction of the leadership and other accountants? How does a leader evaluates a crisis? Will a leader be able to manage the crisis, make the right decisions and provide a solution to the problem at the right time? Leadership is one of the most important functions of businesses and organizations. For proper crisis management, factors such as prevention, strategy planning and immediate response compose fundamental characteristics for an effective response to a difficult situation. Naturally, in an emergency, employees feel vulnerable as well as insecure and psychologically burdened. The leader is the one they expect to reassure and feel close to as they see him as a hero . The position of the leader is the most difficult, since in such a moment he will have to make difficult decisions from the moment when time pushes him unimaginably and a wrong decision may destroy them all. It is important that the leadership has the necessary elements on which to to respond to these difficult situations. But prioritizing and prioritizing, emotional capacity, communication, immediate decision-making, and cooperation are key steps in dealing with crises. A crisis can be either an opportunity or a disaster for an organization. The leader will try to take this crisis as an opportunity.
