Currículo y transformaciones de la formación de comunicadores sociales en América Latina

Abstract

The socio-cultural changes generated by the turbulent emergence of media and technologies in the last twenty-five years have disrupted the knowledge and know-how of communication. However, programs and faculties of social communication, journalism and related fields are being questioned as to why their training proposals are not adapted to the speed at which the transformations in the social world are taking place. In this sense, the present article proposes as a central objective a review of the main research and publications that have addressed the relationship between communication and journalism training in universities in the Latin American context and the demands and challenges of the world of work, through a descriptive review of scientific publications from the last decade in Latin America and some from Spain that address the relationship between university curricula and the performance of social communicators in the world of work.
