Studi Deskriptif Nilai Karakter Respect & Responsibility Di MTSN Kota Bandung

 
 

Abstract


Abstract . Character education is an important component for the Indonesian nation, one of the important character values according to Lickona is respect & responsibility. These two character values contribute to growing the values of other characters. Lack of understanding of the character of respect & responsibility in students can bring up negative traits that have an impact on the next life. Character education can be obtained from formal education, one of which is MTSN, MTSN is an Islamic-based junior high school equivalent. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on how students live and understand the character values of respect & responsibility. The research method uses a descriptive study with quantitative methods. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling with 353 students in grades VII, VIII, and IX along with teachers and parents. The measuring instrument used is the Respect & Responsibility School Culture Survey which has been adapted into Indonesian for students and for adults. The results of this study are the value of high respect character with a percentage of 93.86%, moderate responsibility character value with a percentage of 52.56% and a low bullying character value with a percentage of 8.19% for students which means students have lived and understood the meaning of the value respect & responsibility. Meanwhile, for adults, 90% of Respect and 90% of Responsibilty were obtained, which means that teachers and parents have lived and understood the meaning of respect and responsibility. Pendidikan karakter merupakan komponen penting bagi bangsa Indonesia, salah satu nilai karakter penting menurut Lickona adalah respect&responsibility. Dua nilai karakter ini berkontribusi untuk menumbuhkan nilai karakter lain. Kurangnya pemahaman karakter respect&responsibility pada siswa dapat memunculkan sifar negatif yang berdampak pada kehidupan selanjutnya. Pendidikan karakter bisa didapatkan dari pendidikan formal salah satunya adalah MTSN, MTSN adalah sekolah sederajat SMP berbasis Islam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh data mengenai bagaimana siswa menghayati dan memahami nilai karakter respect & responsibilty. Metode penelitian menggunakan studi deskriptif dengan metode kuantitatif. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling dengan partisipan siswa kelas VII,VIII, dan IX beserta guru dan orang tua sebanyak 353. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Respect & Responsibility School Culture Survey yang sudah diadaptasi kedalam bahasa Indonesia untuk siswa dan untuk orang dewasa. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah nilai karakter respect tinggi dengan presentase 93,86%, nilai karakter responsibility sedang dengan presentase 52,56% dan nilai karakter perundungan rendah dengan presentase 8,19% untuk siswa yang artinya siswa sudah menghayati dan memahami arti dari nilai respect & responsibilty. Sedangkan dari orang dewasa didapatkan hasil Respect sebesar 90% dan Responsibilty sebesar 90% yang artinya para guru dan orang tua sudah menghayati dan memahami arti respect & responsibilty itu sendiri.
