RECURSOS FISIOTERAPÊUTICOS PARA TRATAMENTO DA ESPASTICIDADE ADVINDA DA SÍNDROME PIRAMIDAL
Abstract
Pyramidal syndrome (SP) is a neurological lesion that affects the pyramidal tract in the central nervous system (CNS), with spasticity as the main consequence, resulting from exaggerated excitation of the upper motor neuron (NMS). In this context, physiotherapy is part of a non-pharmacological treatment alternative that treats functional kinetic changes. The present study aims to briefly address and describe the spasticity resulting from SP, as well as the physiotherapeutic alternatives listed in the literature and their benefits through a bibliographic and descriptive review. Books from the Julio Bordignon Library of the Faculty of Education and Environment - FAEMA were used, as well as consultation of published and indexed works in the SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library online), Google Scholar, Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases ), LILACS (Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences), PEDro (Physiotherapy Evidence Database) and Pubmed. The physiotherapeutic resources most listed in the treatment of spasticity were: kinesiotherapy, thermotherapy, cryotherapy, electrotherapy and aquatic physiotherapy, these allow better control of muscle tone, improved strength, muscle function, range of motion (ROM) and sensation articulate proprioceptive.
