Pediatric intracerebral anaplastic ganglioglioma : A Case Report

 
 
 
 

Abstract


Gangliogliomais a rare mixed neuronal-glial tumor of the central nervous system. It makes up approximately 1.3% of all primary brain tumors. (9,3) Anaplastic ganglioglioma (AGG), is classifi ed as WHO grade III, is a rare form of ganglioglioma with anaplastic features which most commonly affects children and young adults. This represents 1-5% of all gangliogliomas.(9,10,14) Generally, it is located in the supratentorial region. It is thought to be highly epileptogenic and malignant, and frequently results in diffuse local and distant metastases within the craniospinal axis and overall shorter survival.
