Abstract

It was aimed quantify the vaccine reactions in beef cattle. The research was developed in Fundinho farm, located municipality of Jaíba/MG and Experimental Farm of Unimontes, located in the city of Janaúba/MG. The animals were divided in two groups, the first being composed of who received the intramuscular vaccine, needle 15 x 18 mm, denominated A group and the second one composed by the animals who received the subcutaneous vaccine, needle 15 x 15mm. In Fundinho farm were vaccinated a total of 69 animals, which thirty-one belonged of A group and thirty three belonged at the B group. In the Experimental Farm of Unimontes were vaccinated a total of 33 animals, which seventeen belonged at the A group and sixteen at the B group. The vaccine were applied in May and administered in neck, on the left side, where there was no vaccine reaction. The results when submitted at Chi-square and F test, reveal that it there was no significant difference (P < 0.05) in relation to the intramuscular and subcutaneous route of application. The use of the commercial vaccine in Northern Minas Gerais with adjuvant mineral oil provokes vaccine reactions that cause lesions in the carcass of the animals and can cause damages to the producers.
