The Third Species of Darpa Moore, 1865 in China and Some Notes on the Genus (Hesperiidae: Pyrginae: Tagiadini)

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Darpa inopinata Devyatkin is newly recorded from Hainan. This is the third species of Darpa to be recorded from China. The geographical distribution of D. inopinata was previously restricted to central and northern Vietnam but is now extended eastward to Hainan. The phylogeny of Darpa was investigated using DNA barcode region. Notes on conservation of the genus Darpa in China are also provided.
