Abstract

The principles known as the Carranza Doctrine should be analyzed in the context of the beginning of the process of normalization of relations between post-revolutionary Mexico and the outside world. Conceived to try to legitimize the economic nationalism of the Carrancista regime abroad, the Carranza Doctrine was associated with the failed Carrancista strategy to form a neutral Latin American bloc committed to the defense of a new international order, based on the principle of non-intervention and the right of each State to regulate its own economic activities without external interference.
