FILTRAZIONE A DISCHI A GRAVITA’ CON FDGIE PER IL TRATTAMENTO DI ACQUE REFLUE URBANE. IL CASO STUDIO DEL DEPURATORE DI PUTIGNANO (BA)

Abstract

The work reports the results of the tertiary filtration tests, carried out in full scale, on SERECO gravity disk filter type FDGIE (Gravity Disk Filter from Inside to Outside) at the municipal sewage treatment plant of Putignano (BA) Italy. The filter, with a filtering surface in stainless steel grade AISI316L, has been installed downstream secondary sedimentation tank and upstream disinfection. A 10-month long test campaign (March to December 2020) was carried out in the most varied real operating conditions. Results obtained show: specific mass flow values, treated by the filter, clearly higher than those reported in the technical literature for similar filters; excellent results in terms of effectiveness of containment of outlet TSS with excellent response even in cases of peaks of TSS at both impulsive and step type; head losses in line with expectations and slightly lower than the values tabulated in the specific technical literature; flow rate loss due to backwashing in line with expectations, and on average lower than the values tabulated in the technical literature; specific energy consumption in line with the expected values.
