Atendimentos a Crianças e Adolescentes com Câncer em Minas Gerais: Retrato de uma Década

 

Abstract


Introduction: Cancer in children and teenagers has global epidemiological\xa0relevance.\xa0Objective: To know and describe the epidemiological, clinical\xa0and care settings of the children and teenagers with cancer treated in Minas\xa0Gerais from 2007 to 2016.\xa0Method: An exploratory, descriptive study with\xa0secondary data via integrator RHC\xa0about the records of care in the State\xa0of children and teenagers with cancer.\xa0Results:\xa0There were 4,953 visits to\xa0children and teenagers with cancer. Predominate: age range of 15 to 19 years;\xa0male subjects; and brown. The most frequent primary site of the tumor\xa0was the hematopoietic system. The primary basis for the diagnosis of the\xa0tumor that predominated was the histology of the primary tumor. The first\xa0treatment received at the hospital that predominated was chemotherapy;\xa0the reasons for not dealing more filled after the not applicable , other\xa0reasons and no information options were death and treatment carried\xa0out . Stable disease meaning stable patient was the disease state at the\xa0end of the first most obser\xa0ved treatment. The most frequent clinic at the\xa0beginning of the treatment was\xa0Oncology\xa0Clinic. The result Precursor\xa0Cell\xa0Lymphoblastic\xa0Leukemia was the most frequent among histological\xa0types identified. We found 36 institutions that make up the oncology\xa0network in 21 municipalities of the\xa0State. There was a reduction of records\xa0/ services to children and teenagers with cancer. Conclusion:\xa0The proposed\xa0characterization and description were reached and portrayed the visits in \nMinas Gerais, to children and teenagers with cancer between 2007 and 2016.
