Infantilización en estudiantes universitarios: ¿un sistema que privilegia la dependencia?

Abstract

INTRODUCTION. Increase infantilism, treating adults as children may sound inaccurate, but apparently the current social system in Ecuador privileges dependence and has been transferred processes from basic education to higher educational environments. This leads to the idea that there is currently infantilization of the university student, understood as a state of dependence and psychic need for constant support from adults. OBJECTIVE. It seeks to generate a theoretical articulation on the subject in order to serve as a basis that frames future works that deepen empirically in the theme. METHOD. It is a theoretical-reflexive investigation that offers the reader a historical view and a psychoanalytic reflection of the study phenomenon. RESULTS. The review of academic documents, had few results, which was expected, however, were sufficient to evidence the existence of a phenomenon that is still little talked about. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS. This article takes a tour of the university historical development and higher education in Ecuador and other contexts. It is noticed how the fall of the authority function has an effect on the social and university organization. Teaching performance is bureaucratized and quantified, and comfort is favored, limiting student responsibility.
