Contact dermatitis is a form of dermatitis (skin inflammation) that is caused by a substance or substance in contact with the skin. The substance in the first place that causes contact dermatitis is detergents. Contact dermatitis can also be caused by the frequency and duration of contact with detergents. This study aims to determine the relationship between the duration of detergent contact and the incidence of contact dermatitis in housewives. This study used an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional study design on housewives in Korowelangkulon Cepiring Village with the provisions that in the last 6 months using detergent once / day and for one week before the study there was no contact with cleaning substances other than detergents. The duration of detergent contact was assessed based on the duration of detergent exposure in minutes / days, whereas contact dermatitis was observed from the presence of skin abnormalities on the palms (erythema and / or dry skin and / or glossy and / or scale and / or hyperkeratosis) skin after contact with detergents. Analysis of the existence of the relationship between detergent contact duration and contact dermatitis was performed using the Spearman correlation test. The results showed that the highest frequency of detergent contact duration was 5-10 minutes / day and 11-15 minutes / day, respectively 23.3%. Most of the respondents (90.0%) experienced contact dermatitis, the highest incidence (23.3%) was found in the detergent contact duration of 11-15 minutes / day. The results of the Spearman correlation test showed that the value of r count was 0.453 and p was 0.012 (p <0.05). The results obtained indicate that there is a relationship between the duration of detergent contact with the incidence of contact dermatitis in housewives. \nKey words: Duration of detergent contact, contact dermatitis
