Abstract


Interest is banned in Islam. The naming in Islamic Law is an unrequited surplus stipulated for the post-contracting parties. This surplus usually benefits one party, while the other is damaged. This damage, which may affect the society, can be material as well as spiritual. In Islamic economic thought, it is forbidden to apply in the market order which is aimed to be formed on the basis of equality and justice principle. There are various psycho-social reasons for this ban. In this study, the relationship between interest borrowing and spirituality was investigated. According to the results of the study, it is observed that interest borrowing is the cause of high stress in individuals and fertility in workplaces / households. In addition, it has been observed that it causes deterioration in family relations and negatively affects the mental health of their children. Interest-rate borrowing was found to negatively affect moral coping
