Prospección arqueológica de las cuevas del valle de Larraun (Navarra). Campañas 2017-2020

Abstract

Many caves are known in the Larraun valley thanks to the work of speleology groups over decades. However, despite most of these caves are cataloged, the information is not unified and some data must be completed to properly manage and put in value their natural and cultural heritage. On the other hand, uncontrolled actions have been carried out in some of the caves, putting in risk the archaeological heritage they keep. In these first campaigns we have explored Basaran 1 and Zuarrarrate caves, we carried out a systematic collection of archaeological remains that were at risk, and we are currently awaiting the results of the anthropological study and chronological analysis.
