APLICABILIDADE DE METODOLOGIAS ATIVAS DE APRENDIZAGEM BASEADA EM PROBLEMAS EM CURSOS DE GRADUAÇÃO EM ENGENHARIA
Abstract
In this study, the results of experiences of application of active learning methodologies based on problems (PBL) in an engineering course in Brazil are showed. Improving student performance and learning in the specific disciplines of the engineering course is the main objective of the application of the PBL in engineering education. It is expected to enhance student motivation, correlating academical theory and practice, through PBL methodology. Therefore, it was based on the hypothesis that a methodology aimed at a more active participation of the student, as well as the opportunity to deal with problems was able to engender motivation and minimize the number of students failing and evasion. The action-research was the methodology used for this study, in which the subjects act as key agents. The results indicated an optimistic return on students ‘ learning and performance with the use of PBL methodology.
