La universidad como clave de género, una apuesta para la transformación social
Abstract
Different forms of violence against women and LGBT+ people are frequent within the academic environment. They occur due mainly to the lack of awareness towards them but also to the vulnerability of the population, placing them in academic environments where they are questioned, abused and marginalised. The reproduction of these forms of violence is validated when the impact on academic and professional development is overlooked, allowing them to multiply into family, work and social environments. Establishing policies, comprehensive care packages and permanent work teams is key to achieve a reassessment of higher education within the gender equality framework and contribute to the reduction of violence against these vulnerable populations.
