Venous stent compression: Influencing factors and evaluation methods

Abstract

With the development of endovascular technique, balloon dilatation and stent implantation have become the preferred treatments for chronic venous obstructive diseases. However, the prognosis results are discrepant for different lesion properties and the use of different stents. Among them, the compression of the stent is the main factor affecting its prognosis. In this paper, the causes and influencing factors of stent compression under different lesions and the evaluation methods of stent compression are reviewed. The effects of different pathological factors on the stent are discussed, and the measurement methods of stent compression are prospected. \n \n \nKey words: \nStent compression;\xa0Post-thrombotic syndrome;\xa0Iliac vein compression syndrome;\xa0Evaluation
