Abstract

Objective \nTo observe operative outcomes of suture-button technique for acute Lisfranc injury. \n \n \nMethods \nA retrospective observation was conducted of the 11 patients who had been operatively treated with suture-button technique and plate fixation for acute Lisfranc injury from January 2015 to December 2016.They were 8 men and 3 women, aged from 22 to 54 years (mean, 32.1 years).By the Myerson classification for the injury, there were 9 cases of type B2 and 2 cases of type C1; by the Chiodo classifica-tion, there were 7 cases of middle column injury, 2 cases of injury to middle and lateral columns and 2 cases of injury to medial and middle columns.Their scores on the visual analogue scale (VAS), mid-foot scores of American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), bone union and complications were observed post-operatively. \n \n \nResults \nFollow-ups for this cohort lasted for 14 to 34 months (mean, 20.5 months).Follow-ups revealed that their VAS scores for the affected foot averaged 0.6 (from 0 to 2), significantly higher than those for the nomal foot (Z=2.070, P=0.038) .Their AOFAS scores averaged 95.2(from 87 to 100), significantly lowerer than those for the nomal foot (Z=2.121, P=0.034) .All fractures were united well. \n \n \nConclusion \nSuture-button technique can lead to satisfactory outcomes for acute Lisfranc injury. \n \n \nKey words: \nFoot;\xa0Wounds and injuries;\xa0Bone plate;\xa0Lisfranc
