Effects of transitional nursing mode on the occurrence of post-PICU syndrome

Abstract

Objective \nTo explore the value of transitional nursing mode in nursing care of children with Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) post syndrome. \n \n \nMethods \nFrom August 2014 to January 2017, 170 cases of children transferred from PICU in this hospital were selected as research objects.According to the random number table method, the patients were divided into the control group (basic care) and the experimental group (transitional care), 85 cases of each group. The negative mood improvement, adverse events and incidence of post-PICU syndrome were observed in the two groups. \n \n \nResults \nThe incidence of adverse events, return to PICU, post-PICU syndrome and psychological disorder syndrome in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). After intervention, the Self-rating Anxiery Scale (SAS) and Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS)scores of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The total satisfaction score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). \n \n \nConclusions \nThe implementation of transitional nursing intervention during PICU transfer can effectively improve the psychological state of children, reduce the risk of adverse events and post-PICU syndrome, and contribute to better recovery of children. \n \n \nKey words: \nTransition period nursing mode;\xa0Post PICU syndrome;\xa0Mentality
