Abstract

Objective \nTo explore the effects of single disease management in burns scar repair patients. \n \n \nMethods \nFrom June 2015 to March 2018, we selected 68 burns scar repair patients of Shaanxi Provincial People s Hospital as subject by convenient sampling. All of the patients were divided into two groups according to admission time including control group (n=34, admitted from June 2015 to January 2017) and observation group (n=34, admitted from February 2017 to March 2018) . Control group carried out routine nursing. Observation group received single disease management. The Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS) was used to assess the scar hyperplasia of patients between groups, and patient satisfaction as well as hospital stay of patients between two groups were compared. \n \n \nResults \nAt admission, there was no statistical difference in the score of VSS of patients in two groups (P>0.05) . Six months after intervention, the colors, vessels distribution, thickness, softness and the total score of patients in observation group were lower than those in control group with statistical differences (P<0.05) . At discharge, the patient satisfaction of observation group was higher than that of control group with a statistical difference (P<0.05) ; the hospital stay of patients in observation group was statistically lower than that in control group (P<0.05) . \n \n \nConclusions \nThe application of single disease management in burns scar repair patients is conducive to improving patients severity of scar, patient satisfaction and shortening the hospital stay, which is worthy of promotion and application. \n \n \nKey words: \nBurns;\xa0Cicatrix;\xa0Health education;\xa0Single disease management;\xa0Vancouver scar scale
