Clinical manifestations of abnormal liver function in children with mycoplasma pneumonia

Abstract

Objective \nTo study the clinical features, liver function, immunoglobulin, cellular immunity and content of lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood of children with pneumonia, so as to provide proof for diagnosis and therapy for mycoplasma pneumonia complicated with abnormal liver function. \n \n \nMethod \nThe data of 256 children with mycoplasma pneumonia admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January to December of 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. The children were divided into normal liver function group and abnormal liver function group according to their liver function. The clinical manifestation, liver function, antibody titer, inflammatory index, humoral immunity and cellular immunity of the two groups were compared and analyzed. \n \n \nResults \nOf 256 children with mycoplasma pneumonia, 232 cases (90.63%) were from normal liver function group, including 136 boys and 96 girls, with onset age of (75.01±36.85)months; 24 cases (9.37%) were from abnormal liver function group, including 20 boys and 4 girls, with onset age of (64.67±37.53)months. Clinical manifestation: most of children in normal liver function group had fever and cough, and only 5 children present cough with asthma mainly; the clinical course was(23.12±8.45)d, the period of fever was (12.88±6.75)d. All the children in abnormal liver function group had cough and fever; the clinical course was (26.17±10.98)d, and the period of fever was(15.75±10.04)d. There were significant differences in gender and IgA content between abnormal liver function group and normal liver function group (P 0.05). \n \n \nConclusions \nThe occurrence of liver function injury in children with mycoplasma pneumonia is closely related to the immune function of the body, but not to the severity of infection.
