The therapeutic effects of nephroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy in combination with transurethral resection of prostate on prostatic hyperplasia complicated by bladder calculi

Abstract

Objective \nTo observe the therapeutic effects of nephroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy in combination with transurethral resection of prostate on prostatic hyperplasia complicated by bladder calculi. \n \n \nMethods \nA total of 130 patients with prostatic hyperplasia and bladder calculi treated in Heji Hospital Affiliated to Changzhi Medical College from February 2017 to May 2018 were selected and randomly divided into study group and conventional group, with 65 cases in each group. Patients in conventional group were treated by transurethral resection of the prostate and mini-incision pubic lithotomy. While patients in study group underwent transurethral resection of the prostate combined with nephroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy. The operation and hospitalization condition, international prostate symptom score (IPSS) and visual analogue scale (VAS) scores before and after treatment, maximum of urinary flow rate (Qmax), residual urine volume (RUV) and quality of life prior to and 6 months after treatment were compared between the two groups. \n \n \nResults \nIn study group, the operation time, intraoperative blood loss, indwelling tube removal time, bladder irrigation time and hospital stay were significantly superioy to those in conventional group (P 0.05). Their quality of life scores were significantly improved 6 months after treatment, and the quality of life scores of study group were significantly better than those of conventional group (P<0.05). \n \n \nConclusions \nCompared with conventional transurethral resection of the prostate combined with mini-incision pubic lithotomy, transurethral resection of the prostate combined with nephroscopic pneumatic lithotripsy in the treatment of prostatic hyperplasia complicated by bladder calculi has similar curative effects, which can significantly reduce the damage caused by the treatment to patients, and promote the recovery of the postoperative body.
