Effect of atorvastatin on heart structure function and inflammatory response in patients with coronary heart disease and heart failure
Abstract
Objective \nTo investigate the effect of atorvastatin on cardiac structure and function in patients with coronary heart disease and heart failure. \n \n \nMethod \nClinical data of 108 patients with coronary heart disease and heart failure treated in Anyang Regional Hospital of Puyang from January 2016 to January 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. According to treatment methods, the 108 patients were divided into observation group (routine drug treatment + atorvastatin 40 mg/d) and control group (routine drug treatment + 20 mg/d atorvastatin), with 54 cases in each group. The cardiac structure function , such as left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD), heart beat out the quantity (SV), cardiac index (CI), inflammation response, including hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs -CRP), interleukin-6 (IL -6), tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), were compared between the two groups. \n \n \nResults \nAfter 6 weeks of treatment , LVEF, CI and SV levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, LVEDD, hs-CRP, IL-6 and TNF-α levels were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). \n \n \nConclusions \nIn patients with coronary heart disease and heart failure, 40 mg/d atorvastatin can effectively improve cardiac structure function and reduce inflammation reactions. \n \n \nKey words: \nCoronary heart disease;\xa0Heart failure;\xa0Atorvastatin;\xa0Cardiac structure function;\xa0Inflammatory response
