Observation on the efficacy of the surgery of levator palpebrae superioris resection conserving distal levator aponeurosis
Abstract
Objective \nTo observe the efficacy of the surgery of levator palpebrae superioris resection conserving distal levator aponeurosis. \n \n \nMethods \nThe data of 77 eyes of 62 patients with moderate congenital blepharoptosis from May.2014 to Mar. 2018 in this hospital were analyzed retrospectively. All cases were divided into two groups randomly.Group A, 36 eyes of 29 cases, received the surgery of levator palpebrae superioris resection conserving distal levator aponeurosis.Group B, 41 eyes of 33 cases, received the traditional surgery of levator palpebrae superioris resection. All patients were followed up for 3-12 months. The efficacy was analysed and evaluated. \n \n \nResults \nThe difference of efficacy was not statistically significant between the two groups (P>0.05). The incidence rate of complications in group A was lower than that of group B. No conjunctival prolapse occurred, and the recovery time was shorter in group A. Conjunctival prolapse occurred in 5 eyes of 4 cases in group B. \n \n \nConclusion \nThe surgery of levator palpebrae superioris resection conserving distal levator aponeurosis is effective, with less intraoperative injury and shorter recovery time. \n \n \nKey words: \nBlepharoptosis, congenital;\xa0Prolapse, conjunctival;\xa0Levator, palpebrae superioris;\xa0Aponeurosis
