Observation on the efficacy of intravitreal Conbercept injection for secondary macular edema in the elderly patients
Abstract
Objective \nTo observe the efficacy of intravitreal anti-VEGF injection for the treatment of macular edema due to brunch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) in the elderly patients. \n \n \nMethods \nThe data of 81 eyes of 81 patients of macular edema secondary to BRVO in this hospital from Jan.2014 to Jul.2018 were retrospective analysed. There were 41 eyes with age ranged from 71 to 95 years as the observation group and 40 eyes with age ranged from 50 to 70 years as control group. All patients received intravitreal Conbercept injection and the followed up time was 6 months. The postoperative efficacy was observed. \n \n \nResults \nBCVA and foveal thickness after injection were improved compared with preoperation (P 0.05). The difference of BCVA at 3 and 6 month after injection was statistically significant between the two groups (P<0.05). \n \n \nConclusion \nThe intraitreal anti-VEGF injection for secondary macular edema in the elderly patients is safe and effective, and similar to younger patients in efficacy. \n \n \nKey words: \nEdema, macular, elderly patient;\xa0Anti-VEGF, intravitreal
