Reflective Learning In Nursing Education
Abstract
Reflective learning is a type of education in which students reflect upon their learning experiences. All levels of nursing, from students to advanced practitioners , are affected by reflective learning. Critical thinking, empowerment, motivation , and self-efficacy are the skills essential for practicing nurses ; , hence, the implication of nursing students developing these skills cannot be undervalued. Reflection is a practice which promotes active development of these skills by involving students in analysing, synthesi s z ing and integrating their experience, thus , revolutionising their learning. Inculcation of these skills make s them competent, facilitate s self-understanding, thus , improves quality of patient care. Reflective learning cultivates critical thinking, problem - solving and decision - making which are the basic qualities for endless learning and development among nursing students.
