Research progress of prosthesis survivorship for unicompartmental knee arthroplasty

Abstract

For decades, UKA prosthesis, technique and technology has undergone improvements and developments. The clinical manifestations of UKA achieved gratifying results because of the progress of prosthetic material, prosthetic design, surgical technique and the rational choice of the indications for UKA, where the survivorship has been close to the total knee arthroplasty(TKA), some data even better than TKA. This article reviewed the effect of prosthesis classification, age, body mass index, progress of surgical technique, experience and technology on the survivorship of unicompartmental knee arthroplasty. \n \n \nKey words: \nArthroplasty, replacement, knee;\xa0Survivorship
