Application of endoscopic ultrasonography and its new techniques in the diagnosis of gastrointestinal subepithelial tumors

Abstract

With the popularity of gastrointestinal endoscopy, the discovery rate of gastrointestinal subepithelial tumors (SETs) is on the rise. Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) provides a wealth of information for the diagnosis of SETs, but with limited specificity. The new endoscopic ultrasonography techniques have great potential for the diagnosis of SETs of the gastrointestinal with their high accuracy, specificity and non-invasiveness. This article will summarize the relevant articles on the diagnosis of endoscopic ultrasonography and its new techniques in the SETs of the gastrointestinal. \n \n \nKey words: \nGastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs);\xa0Colorectal neoplasms;\xa0Endoscopic ultrasonography;\xa0Endoscopic ultrasonography elastography;\xa0Contrast enhanced harmonic endoscopic ultrasonography;\xa0Subepithelial tumors
