Abstract

Introduction: The emerging and evolving situation of Coronavirus disaese-2019 (COVID-19) threatens the health of all human beings This study aims to measure the mortality rate and years of life lost (YLL) due to premature death caused by COVID-19 in Iran, Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences Materials and Methods: In this study, all definite deaths due to COVID-19 were used First, descriptive analysis, including mean and standard deviation and the number, was performed Then, raw and age-standardized mortality rates were calculated The analysis of the number of YLL due to premature death caused by COVID-19 was performed using the YLL template of 2015, from the World Health Organization, in the Excel spreadsheet software version 2007
